Police: Driver Hits, Kills Elderly Man



(Planfield, IN) -- An elderly man is dead after being hit by a car during an early morning walk. Police said 76-year-old William M. Woodruff was crossing the street at Stanley Road and Chad Court near Ind. 267 when the unidentified driver of a Crown Victoria slammed into the man. Woodruff later died at Wishard Hospital. There have been no tickets or arrests so far.
